I used to regularly attend a church here in Marion but officially stopped going when they started a *ahem* twelve part sermon series on the end times. Since then I’ve been “shopping” for a new church.

However, this past weekend I had lunch with some good friends who are still attending the same church.

“You should give the church another try,” one of them said. “They have a new music minister!”

And then she leaned towards me cupped her hands over her mouth and whispered, “And he’s black.”

Apparently skin color is now a secret? I didn’t get that memo.
